Phyllis Carter - It is a primitive, savage, heartless, arrogant, disgusting ritual, As a Jew, and a decent. civilized, human being I am outraged that anyone still carries out this slaughter and dares to lay their own sins on a helpless creature - and blames God for the ritual. It makes me sick and angry.
When I was a very little child, I think I witnessed this ritual once. But I do remember clearly that my mother put money she had saved into a handkerchief, tied the handkerchief into a little bundle and performed the ritual using the little sack of money. At the end of the rite, the "sacrifice" is tossed away and my parents gave that money to charity.
This kind of "freedom of religion", the torture and slaughter of the innocents, MUST BE OUTLAWED IN ALL CIVILIZED COUNTRIES.
If someone's "religion" required rape of children and the slaughter of infants, would Canada and America allow that too?
Are we blood thirsty savages to stand by and allow such atrocity - IN GOD'S NAME ?
THIS MUST BE STOPPED ! NEVER AGAIN !

While Orthodox Jews still perform this savage ritual, Muslims kill millions of sheep and goats and other animals for the same inane reason.
