KEEP ELECTION PROMISES OR RESIGN:

A GOD'S EYE VIEW

**************************************
Everyone knows that politicians lie, especially when they are running for election. Western public accepts this as normal and inevitable and so it goes on and on. We know long before the results are called that we will not see elections promises materialize. The voters expect it.

Once the candidate ascends to his or her throne, the voters are hardly in the picture. We are entities to be avoided, ignored, distracted, brushed off like pesky mosquitoes. This is so true and so common that just about everyone accepts it. The voters just go back to their corners and contemplate their navels. Pass the potato chips, turn on the hockey game, water the lawn. Don't get involved. It's no use. There's nothing we can do about it. Bring me a drink.

Those who do nothing to stop evil, ensure that it will succeed. Qui tacet consentit. Silence implies consent - and rewards injustice.

He who does not bellow the truth,
When he knows the truth,
Makes himself the accomplice of liars and forgers.

Charles Peguy
France - 1873 - 1914

If we take a God's Eye view of earth and civilization, I think we might see that we are living in a process, not a fixed state. Human beings are in a struggle to evolve, either to a higher form of life or to total destruction. It is a constant tug-of-war at every level, from the smallest cells to all the life on earth.

It takes a lot of time and pressure to turn coal into diamonds. It took a lot of time and pressure to turn a couple of amoeba into homo sapiens. Science reveals that all species vie for life by the stronger entities destroying the weaker ones. Human beings reflect this every day in business, in politics, in dealing with landlords and employers, in so-called "sports" - where people kill animals for fun, torture their opponents for fun, beat them to a pulp, for fun. Our entire human race is in a process of killing, not only in formal "wars" but in everyday life - killing physically, killing emotionally, killing for the pleasure of exercising power and surviving. Win the cup. Get the prize. Get the job. Get a bigger car. Manipulate the drug industry: We have to earn  higher profits next quarter. Patients are just statistics. Numbers. So what if some suffer or die.

Outwitting, misleading, lying, cheating, stealing, intimidating, suppressing. It is all a part of the big picture - the struggle for survival of the fittest, the strongest, the most heartless, the richest.

They gather together in teams, slates, gangs, clubs, parties, companies, corporations, societies, organizations, nations, to gain power over those who do not want to get involved. And so the struggle continues, day in and day out, and most people never see the big picture before they are crushed.

So how can intelligent, caring people have any hope of making a difference, moving the forces of nature in a positive direction, when the most powerful people on earth - who are usually only interested in their own survival and success - continue to suppress and destroy the weaker?

Start in your own little corner of the world. Grow where you are planted. Reach out. Talk to your family and friends. Go beyond, to your neighbours, Find like-minded people who want to create a safer, fairer, kinder, more Just Society. Organize small societies of your own - and do not allow anyone to corrupt or mislead your group.

Stand up and speak out !

Demand and insist that politicians keep their election promises or resign.

Failing their willingness to honour those promises within a reasonable time frame,  the weaker members of society must persuade them to come down from their thrones - by every non-violent method they can dream of.

And there is one thing that I believe all the weak have in common:  We can dream.

Some men see things as they are and say, "Why?"
I see things that never were, and say, "Why not?"
