FROM WORDS TO GENOCIDE: ANTI-SEMITIC PROPAGANDA AND THE HOLOCAUST.

Shalom Festival

From Words to Genocide: Antisemitic Propaganda and the Holocaust is the UNESCO's theme of this year's International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, on the 27th of January.

Director General, Irina Bokova, stated very correctly that "the prevention of genocide starts on the benches of schools. Education can help prevent hate speech and undermine prejudice". However, when one considers the unbridled hate speech and bashing of Israel in campuses all over the US and around the world, and the biased and often false or twisted "facts" presented in the media, it is difficult not to think that what is happening today is the exact opposite.

History has taught us that words become actions very quickly in a culture of hate, so when freedom of speech is being used today to spread propaganda and hatred toward Jewish people, we have to take notice. From words to genocide, all it takes is hate.
