Hard Line separatists will never stop nagging and harassing, but intelligent people may wake up to the fact that extremists always do harm - harm extending beyond the obvious, damaging relationships, hurting children, affecting the economy, sullying the reputation of a beautiful part of Canada and making Quebec look ridiculous and a questionable place to visit.
As a youngster, I worked at Metropolitan News at 1248 Peel Street in Montreal - The Crossroads of The Nation, our family's business. We were the first international newspaper store in Montreal. We also sold fine English bone china and Irish linens.
Busloads of tourists staying at the Mt. Royal and Windsor and Laurentian and Queen's Hotels nearby, flocked into our store. Sometimes we couldn't even close the door because there were so many customers. And they praised us and our beautiful, clean, friendly city.
Those were the days, my friends. We thought they'd never end. But then came the separatists.
