Norway has decided that only three wolf packs are allowed to give birth to wolf pups in Norwegian nature. This hunt of 16 of the 30 wolves could mean the end of the three all-Norwegian family wolf groups.

Phyllis Carter - What a dilemma. How can the farmers protect their sheep and save the wolves?

 

Mona Nygaard  - The only reason people want to kill the wolves here in Norway, is because in the summer many sheepfarmers in the country let their sheep loose in the forests for months, without sheperds. They bring them home in autumn, and count their losses, and blames the wolves. Many sheep gets killed by wolves and other predators. So instead of hiring sheperds, they want to kill all the wolves.

James Jones - Attention Karen Schroeder. I read your posts. Feel sorry you live in such a small existence. Here is my response. One people, one earth and just because humans put up walls, {borders} doesn't mean we shouldn't all share in the future of this world. Your neighbor is polluting your air, that's ok as it's in their yard. None of your business. RIGHT? Man has already done enough to mess up nature so I agree with you and only in this one point. She will work it out. Now, back to the subject at hand. WOLVES. Raised them, been around them all my life. I'm from Northern B.C.. Not far from the Muskwa Valley which is called the Serengeti of North America. I was involved when they decided to do something about the wolves here as the herds were depleting. Elk, Moose and caribou to name a few. Who said so. The guides and outfitters in the area. Yes money talked so they decided to tranquilize as many as they could and sterilize them. My thoughts as I pointed out were, if they did there would be no pups and no reason for the pack to stay near a den, hence following and eating more of the herd. Not only did this come to be but the others broke from the pack to start their own. In the one area I know well it went from 1 to 3 packs. 10 years later they decided to just kill them. In my area alone 180 were culled last year and the same is suppose to take place again shortly. Guess we haven't learned a thing. I see Karen Schroeder that your from Wyoming. Many of the wolves in your neck of the woods came from my back yard.. Yellowstone is once again thriving after being wiped out by man. Other states are now following suit. I hope the day never comes that we don't have wolves here as I go out to hear the call of the wild. As for whats happening in Norway, it's everybody's business. I was very glad to hear {read} the posts from my brothers and sisters of Norway and highly value their opinions. I say again Leave my friends alone. Shouldn't have got me started. TC all..
