MICHAEL APPLEBAUM IS SITTING PRETTY IN MONTREAL CITY HALL - FOR NOW
That was then. This is now.
See how a small group of concerned and RESPONSIBLE citizens of the Montreal suburb of Notre Dame de Grace - NDG - challenged the powers of the City of Montreal.
It took a couple of years before anyone seemed to notice, but now the Mayor of Montreal and his friends on the NDG Borough Council are facing the law.
One woman, a cancer patient, Margaret Rumscheidt, led the way. When she was no longer able, I challenged mayor Michael Applebaum who called us a mere "splinter group." I dubbed us, "The NDG Splinters."
Justice in Quebec is very slow. You have to live long enough to see it happen. Margaret Rumsheidt did not live long enough to see justice, but we will remember her courage.
