Police want the public's assistance in finding the suspect in an attempted-murder investigation after a man carrying a baby was shot three times in the torso and abdomen Saturday night in Scarborough.
The man was shot on Madelaine Ave., near Pharmacy and Danforth Aves., around 9 p.m. According to police, he was walking with four women, a child and two infants, one of which he was holding, when the gunman approached him.
The shooter fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, about 30 years old, 5-feet-8 or 5-feet-9 and weighing 140-150 pounds, and wearing blue jeans and a dark hoodie.

Police reported soon after the shooting that the victim was conscious and breathing when he was rushed to St. Michael's Hospital, where he was said Saturday to be in serious but stable condition.
