Interesting trivia: Did you know the Montreal logo is composed of 4 hearts? And that each heart is composed of the two letters from Ville de Montreal (MV)!

  Marc Proulx I remember that when it was designed back in 1981 we paid the design firm something in the neighbourhood of $350,000 for it (what would that be in today's dollars?) which I thought was an outrageous waste of tax dollars but typical of the way Montreal city hall has always done business.

  Phyllis Carter What you did NOT know is that the designer who won the money prize for this image almost certainly took it from THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER, where it appeared every week as a border decoration around one or more columns. I reported this at the time, but no one seemed to care that the taxpayers' money was spent on this rip-off. But the City of Montreal has not been known for its honesty or wisdom as you can see in the news. We are still waiting for the trial of Montreal Mayor Michael Applebaum, for example.
