When I was a reporter at The Lakeshore News and Chronicle in Montreal in the early 1980's, my editor, Jeannette Burley Tremblay, started removing my by-line from some of my best articles.
I asked her why.
Tremblay said I was writing so many articles that it would appear I was writing the whole paper. So she would have it appear that my articles were written by "the staff."
Now that I am my own publisher as a blogger, nobody steals my by-line.
To date, I have published 1056 articles at Phyllis Carter's Journal at
And 189 articles at The Crimes of Dawn McSweeney and the Montreal Police at
Almost 68,000 people around the globe have read my reports.
