Some years ago, the popular singer, Frankie Laine recorded "The Cry of The Wild Goose". The song was a hit. You couldn't stop humming it.
This evening, watching news from Japan, I learned the truth about where the Wild Goose goes, and it is troubling.
Thousands of migrating waterfowl, including thousands of Bean Geese, winter in the Fukushima Delta.
There, they find shelter in the tall reeds and grasses, and food to carry them through the winter .... food glowing with the energy of Fukushima.
And then they fly thousands of miles.
And maybe you eat them.
My heart knows what the wild goose knows,
I must go where the wild goose goes.
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' fool or a heart at rest?
I must go where the wild goose goes.
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' fool or a heart at rest?
