I USED TO THINK THE PEOPLE OF CHINA WERE SO WISE - SO HOW COME ... ?

WHO WOULDN'T LOVE HER?

How is it that, thirty years ago, when I was a mere slip of a girl in my 40's, I knew immediately that the ONE CHILD PER COUPLE policy was idiotic, and the leaders of China did not know it? Aren't the Chinese known for their philosophy and science?
 
The One Child Per Couple law was instituted formally on September 25, 1980, although it was in practice earlier.
 
How did those very smart people not realize that the poor folks would choose to keep their male babies and coldly murder thousands of wonderful little girls?
 
How did they not foresee that, a time would come when their young drones would not be able to find a queen ?
 
I saw it right away. Why didn't they?
