Pamela Fox  It amazes me that so many can stand and fight for their right to marry (politicians included), yet you see very few stand and fight for the right to parent their children without government interference, (politicians included). When will our children and their futures be the priority? I ask this not just in California but throughout all nations

IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD:  If competent, caring parents have the means to take care of their children without support from anyone else, fine. But look around and see how many people who have children are not competent or do not have the means to provide what is needed by a child to grow up healthy and safe.

 

Most creatures can give birth, but, unfortunately not everyone who gives birth is competent or caring or financially able to raise a child. Watch the news. In the past few days and weeks, we have heard of several tragic cases of mothers murdering their own children because they just could not cope and could not find anyone who would help.

 

Yes. We do need government to take an interest and help. We do not need tyrants to decide such things as whether a child in Quebec should be allowed to study in the English language.

 

There are many issues involved in raising a human being and no one should generalize about the involvement of government. The subject needs very careful study and the public should ensure that children are raised with kindness and provision for a healthy life.
