It strikes me strange that there are people who actually advertise in Montreal area newspapers offering PARDONS ! An open buffet for criminals.

 

Two examples in THE SUBURBAN, April 28, 2010:

 

#1 IN PARDONS. Remove your criminal record. Express pardons offers the fastest pardons. LOWEST prices and it's GUARANTEED. B.B.B. Accredited. FREE     Consultation. Toll-free 1-866-xxxx   (Phone number and web site deleted)

 

And

 

CRIMINAL RECORD? We can help ! The National Pardon Centre (TM) is RCMP accredited.  For better service www.. Call 514-842-xxxx  (Contacts deleted)

 

I notice that prostitutes also advertise in classified pages, some as "charming Asian" or Russian masseuses or escorts - but clearly, prostitutes. But then, anything for a buck. Newspapers are starving for advertising dollars. Ethics? Who has ethics anymore?

 

If restaurants were honest and called their fare "butchered chopped cow", the profits might dwindle. We can only swallow that hamburger by lying to ourselves.
