What the world would be like today,

If Israelis and Palestinians had not

Followed religious fanatics

From the beginning.

 

Imagine Palestine

Without the fanatics,

Living alongside Israel in peace:

 

Imagine their land,

Irrigated, plowed, seeded,

Their olive trees bearing fruit,

Their young people

In schools,

Without guns.

Their shops bursting with fruit,

Their towns full of visitors.

 

Imagine the Palestinians

Respected and accepted

Instead of feared and reviled.

 

Imagine what the world would be like

Without the fanatics.

 

It is not about God

It is about greed;

It is about people

Who want everything,

And give others,

Nothing but death.

 

It is about fanatics

Who blame God

For the atrocities they commit,

And the sheep in sheets,

That teach their children

To kill and die.

 

So their land lies fallow,

And their buildings, crushed,

And their sons bleed,

And they blame their crimes on God,

And their misery on Israel.

 

Who will stop the madness ?
