⛔ D ID YOU KNOW THAT QUEBEC'S PROVINCIAL GVT PLANS TO CONDEMN SEIZED AND ABANDONED DOGS TO LABORATORIES UNDER BILL 128? ⛔
Here it is, hidden in Bill 128:
"20. 2. An educational institution or an institution carrying out research activities may acquire, possess or retain a dog prohibited for teaching, study or research..."
⚠️ What does this mean for YOUR dog if it gets SEIZED?
As if the seizure, separation and isolation wasn't horrific enough, your dog will the subject for invasive and painful tests every day of the rest of its life. Living in small barren cage and being subjected to various forms of toxicity testing through force feeding, inhalation (cigarettes, oven cleaner, hairspray, bleach, etc.), injection and skin exposure.
⚠️ Can it get any worse???
Yes, some of these research facilities receive chunks of your tax dollars to bankroll their cruel and crude experiments. While others are privately owned and can easily get away the most horrific practices such as ITR laboratories, located in Baie D'Urfé, West Island of Montreal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOsFvS0p5lc
To think that the GVT allows for your seized dog to be sold to such a place is beyond inhumane and unacceptable.
To think that the GVT allows for your seized dog to be sold to such a place is beyond inhumane and unacceptable.
⚠️ But doesn't this go against the provincial Animal Welfare and Safety Act (AWSA) and our values?
Even though AWSA was unanimously voted in 2015 declaring that animals are not things but sentient beings that have biological needs, the provincial GVT grants itself the right to table Bill 128 as if it had never existed:
Here it is, hidden in Bill 128:
"The provisions of the Animal Welfare and Safety Act (chapter B-3.1) shall not be interpreted as having the effect of preventing the application of the provisions of this Act and the regulations."
AWSA required that pets receive care consistent with their needs but under Bill 128 targeted dogs will go back to having the same status and rights as movable furniture.
Because your dog LOOKS a certain way, it is no longer considered a sentient being and for the GVT it does not feel pain, isn't sensitive, conscious or responsive to its senses.

Therefore, according to Bill 128, your dog can and should be deprived of stimulation, socialization and environmental enrichment – just like a chair would.
⚠️ What could your dog have possibly done to deserve this?
Nothing, it was simply born looking a certain way 💔
Bill 128 is an absolute betrayal of our vulnerable dogs and of us all!
