If you need a God that is small enough to fit into a book or a scroll or a codex or a building made of cloth, stone, steel or glass, consider this:
Is your God small enough ?
In light of what we have learned in the past hundred years or so,
Have you considered The Big Bang ?
Could it be that Real God is much sub-sub-atomic and limitless, filling all existence and creating, re-creating, sustaining, maintaining, organizing and re-organizing, and protecting everything to fit "His" plans, all the time? Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent.
When you scoff at the Hindu religion, for example, have you considered the possibility that some believers may have stumbled on a certain dream-like concept of reality long before Newton, Galileo, Copernicus, quantum mechanics and string theory?
Have you given any thought to dark matter and dark energy? Are you too busy contemplating your navel or your fiscal profits that can melt away in a moment to consider wider knowledge?
Might it be that all human beings and animals each have some minute part of the truth. Are we all parts of a huge jigsaw puzzle that must be put together correctly for us to begin to see the Big Picture ?
As long as we are floundering around, beating each other into oblivion, making war and lying and intimidating others, we have no time, energy or resources to work together to understand what we are, where we came from and what we might do to preserve life for the as-yet unforeseeable future.
