JEWISH GENERAL HOSPITAL ABUSES, NEGLIGENCE, DENIAL


POWER CORRUPTS:

THE JEWISH GENERAL HOSPITAL IN MONTREAL IS ONE OF THE BEST HOSPITALS IN CANADA, PROBABLY AMONG THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

THERE ARE TALENTED, DEVOTED, HARD-WORKING - EVEN SELF-SACRIFICING - DOCTORS AND NURSES THERE, WORKING LONG HOURS TO EASE SUFFERING AND SAVE LIVES.

BUT THERE ARE MANY ABUSES TOO, SERIOUS ABUSES, LIFE-THREATENING ABUSES - AND I HAVE BEEN REPORTING ON THIS FOR YEARS.

BUT MANAGEMENT ALWAYS FINDS A WAY TO BLAME THE PATIENT. AND THEY HAVE THE POWER TO SILENCE TRUTH.

JEWISH GENERAL HOSPITAL - GIVE ME A BRAKE!
 
I have a fat lip. I didn't always have a fat lip, but I have one now because, yesterday, at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, the wheelchair slipped out from under me as I stood up and my body went flying onto my walker. My head hit the corner of the wall by the reception desk and my face hit the floor.
 
WHY?
 
Because the wheelchair brakes were rusted and they did not work.
 
In fact, many - if not most - of the wheelchairs provided for the patients at the Jewish General Hospital are damaged. Brakes don't work, parts are missing leaving steel ends protruding, seats are torn, foot rests swivel outward where nobody has feet.
 
WHY?
 
I blame management. I have bone cancer. You are lucky my teeth were not broken or my bones. The fall was severe and it could have cost me my life.
 
THERE WERE MANY WITNESSES WHO RUSHED TO HELP. 
 
You are lucky money doesn't interest me and I will not sue you for negligence and endangering the lives of the patients.
 
Do not bother sending me one of your pretty letters of apology, denying your responsibility. I know you. I know your games. I am not impressed.
 
The next time someone is injured due to your negligence, they can count on my support if they take appropriate action.

MS. ROSEMARY STEINBERG WORKS FOR THE CORPORATION, NOT FOR THE PATIENTS.
 
I HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH THIS.
 
DR. PORTNOY MAKES EXCUSES FOR EVERY WRONG THAT THE HOSPITAL DOES.
 
EVEN WHEN DR. STASIAK ALMOST KILLED ME.
 
EVEN WHEN A NURSE LEFT MY HUSBAND BLEEDING INTO A RED POOL ON THE FLOOR.
 
EVEN WHEN *DR. ARTHUR ROSENBERG AUTHORIZED DENTAL SURGERY ON MY HUSBAND AFTER HE HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF COUMADIN FOR THREE DAYS.
 
CLIFF BLED CONSTANTLY FOR MORE THAN A WEEK.

HE BLED TO DEATH.
 
EVEN WHEN THEY SENT MY BELOVED HOME, SWOLLEN LIKE A BALLOON, TO DIE.
 
YOU CAN'T PLAY ME. THE CORPORATION IS NEVER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING. THEY ALWAYS BLAME THE PATIENT.
 
I HAVE BEEN REPORTING ABUSES AT THE JEWISH GENERAL HOSPITAL FOR YEARS - MOST IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT WHERE PATIENTS ARE MOST HELPLESS - AND EVERY DETAIL IS OPEN TO THE WORLD AT PHYLLIS CARTER'S JOURNAL. YOU CAN READ ABOUT ALL THE CRUEL AND CARELESS THINGS I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND WITNESSED.
 
THERE MAY BE "INVESTIGATIONS" BUT IT WILL ALWAYS COME BACK DECLARING THAT THE PATIENT IS WRONG.
