I received an email from David Goldberg, editor of the NDG Free Press in Montreal, on June 1st, 2012 - asking me to remove him from my mailing list. He has been sending me hard copies in the mail for many months. I was rather surprised, but, from time to time politicians and media ask to be cut from my mailing list. Today, June 6, I picked up the current issue of THE SUBURBAN and learned .... !!!

Today's SUBURBAN (Award-winning weekly Montreal, Quebec, English language newspaper ) - reports that the editor of the NDG Free Press, (Community newspaper) -David Goldberg, "was arrested and charged last week for allegations he accessed and possessed child pornography." The Suburban reports , "Goldberg's name is alleged to have come up as part of a Netherlands police investigation."
I have known David Goldberg for years, but clearly I knew only a little about him. I have sat with him in his office on occasion discussing politics and his weight problem. He always seemed straight forward and ordinary. This is one big, sad surprise.
