PETER YARROW - LOVE AND JUSTICE IN A DARK WORLD

Peter Yarrow

My mother (pictured here at my 50th birthday party, with my son and daughter) was so in love with her students (and with teaching them) that she was fairly bursting with excitement to go to school each morning. Her dedication was one of sheer delight – round the clock work both in school and when she came home. She exuded the kind of empathy and compassion that you can spot a mile away, and she took enormous pride in the accomplishments of her students, who fairly adored her.

My mother was also courageous, feisty, and committed to societal fairness and equity, and a formidable advocate for and with her colleagues. She would not be intimidated and she fought hard to win the kinds of rights that were finally achieved for workers in the US. It was because of these victories that the strength, character, and greatness of our country grew as the middle class grew and prospered, starting in the 1940s post-war years. Having said that, teachers were never, to my mind, paid properly, and in New York public schools, classes had too many students. But teachers were respected in those days – if not monetarily, at least they were respected as to their place in society, and if not by the local governments that paid them, by the parents and their children who valued them and respected them immensely.

Now, however, teachers have become less and less respected and honored, and over the decades, more and more, their wages have continued to reflect the inability of our culture and our society to prioritize what truly made us, for a long time, the most envied nation in the world.

My mother would be getting on a plane to join those teachers throughout America who are finally standing up and demanding fairness, who are striking, although they face the possibility of losing their jobs or even being arrested and sent to jail. She would be prouder than proud of these courageous teachers, predominantly women, who are determined to follow the lead, in some ways, of those amazing children who are demanding that they have a right to go to school and not be afraid of being shot at, wounded, or killed. (Do teachers have that right too? I'd say so.)

This effort by teachers makes me, as my mother's son, thrilled and in awe.

In so many ways, women and children are emerging as the hope for our nation, indomitable spirits that are brave enough to say, "This is wrong, unfair, dangerous, foolish", in effect crying out at last, "The emperor has no clothes."

On behalf of my dynamic, amazing, loving mother, Vera B. Yarrow, let me share my admiration beyond what my words can express. In no more crucial time in the past have we needed such strength, courage, and leadership. My mother's cup would be overflowing to witness these too long delayed teachers' strikes. Honoring her as the person who gave me and taught me absolutely everything, my cup is overflowing too.

Children and teachers: lead us on and we will gratefully follow you! You are the ones we've been waiting for.

In gratitude, peace and solidarity,

Peter

THANK YOU FOR THIS MESSAGE, PETER. YOU AND YOUR FAMILY - INCLUDING NOEL AND MARY - ARE ICONS OF PEACE, LOVE AND JUSTICE. YOU SHINE A LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD.

HEARTFELT LOVE TO YOU AND YOURS.

HIROSHIMA, NAGASAKI. THE NUCLEAR GAME CONTINUES.

Hiroshima:
The pictures they didn't want us to see.

The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed about 250.000 people and became the most dreadful slaughter of civilians in modern history. However, for many years there was a curious gap in the photographic records. Although the names of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were incised into our memories, there were few pictures to accompany them. Even today, the image in our minds is a mixture of devastated landscapes and shattered buildings. Shocking images of the ruins, but where were the victims?

The American occupation forces imposed strict censorship on Japan, prohibiting anything "that might, directly or by inference, disturb public tranquility" and used it to prohibit all pictures of the bombed cities. The pictures remained classified 'top secret' for many years. Some of the images have been published later by different means, but it's not usual to see them all together. This is the horror they didn't want us to see, and that we must NEVER forget:

1. Signals

All the watches found in the ground zero were stopped at 8:15 am, the time of the explosion.

Within a certain distance from the site of explosion, the heat was so intense that practically everything was vaporised. The shadows of the parapets were imprinted on the road surface of the Yorozuyo Bridge, 1/2 of a mile south-southwest of the hypocenter. Besides, in Hiroshima, all that was left of some humans, sitting on stone benches near the centre of explosion, was their outlines.

One photograph shows the stone steps of a Bank where a person was incinerated by the heat rays.

2. The massacre

On August 6, 1945, 8.15 am, the uranium atom bomb exploded 580 metres above the city of Hiroshima with a blinding flash, creating a giant fireball and sending surface temperatures to 4,000C. Fierce heat rays and radiation burst out in every direction, unleashing a high pressure shockwave, vaporising tens of thousands of people and animals, melting buildings and streetcars, reducing a 400-year-old city to dust.

Housewives and children were incinerated instantly or paralysed in their daily routines, their internal organs boiled and their bones charred into brittle charcoal.

Beneath the center of the explosion, temperatures were hot enough to melt concrete and steel. Within seconds, 75,000 people had been killed or fatally injured with 65% of the casualties nine years of age and younger.

Radiation deaths were still occurring in large numbers in the following days. "For no apparent reason their health began to fail. They lost appetite. Their hair fell out. Bluish spots appeared on their bodies. And then bleeding began from the ears, nose and mouth".

Doctors "gave their patients Vitamin A injections. The results were horrible. The flesh started rotting from the hole caused by the injection of the needle. And in every case the victim died".

3. Hibakusha

Hibakusha is the term widely used in Japan referring to victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Japanese word translates literally to "explosion-affected people".

They and their children were (and still are) victims of severe discrimination due to lack of knowledge about the consequences of radiation sickness, which people believed to be hereditary or even contagious.

Many of them were fired from their jobs. Hibakusha women never got married, as many feared they would give birth to deformed children. Men suffered discrimination too. "Nobody wanted to marry someone who might die in a couple of years".

4. Yamahata, the photographer of Nagasaki

On August 10, 1945, the day after the bombing of Nagasaki Yosuke Yamahata, began to photograh the devastation. The city was dead. He walked through the darkened ruins and the dead corpses for hours. By late afternoon, he had taken his final photographs near a first aid station north of the city. In a single day, he had completed the only extensive photographic record of the immediate aftermath of the atomic bombing of either Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

"A warm wind began to blow - he wrote later - Here and there in the distance I saw many small fires, like elf-fires, smoldering. Nagasaki had been completely destroyed"

Mr. Yamahata's photographs are the most complete record of the atomic bombing as seen in the most immediate hours after the bombing. The New York Times has called Mr. Yamahata's photographs, "some of the most powerful images ever made".

Mr. Yamahata became violently ill on August 6, 1965, his forty-eighth birthday and the twentieth anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the duodenum, probably caused by the residual effects of radiation received in Nagasaki in 1945. He died on April 18, 1966, and is buried at Tama Cemetery, Tokyo.

SINCLAIR BROADCASTING BOMBARDS AMERICA WITH LIES

http://phylliscartersjournal.blogspot.ca/2018/02/fake-news-by-adolf-hitler.html

WHEN YOU WANT TO CAPTURE THE MINDS OF MANY FOOLS AND ENSLAVE THEM TO WORSHIP AND OBEY YOU, YOU MUST CONFUSE THEM, BOMBARD THEM WITH RELENTLESS DECEPTION.

THE HOLOCAUST DID NOT START WITH THE OVENS. IT STARTED WITH ENDLESS LIES, RHETORIC.

IT DIDN'T END WITH THE OVENS. JEWISH PEOPLE SURVIVED AND HITLER DIED.

AND THEN THERE WAS NUREMBERG.

THERE WILL BE ANOTHER NUREMBERG. AND MANY WILL SAY, "I WAS JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS."

Critics are calling Sinclair's promos pro-Trump propaganda. Now the company is defending the initiative, and calling it something much more mundane: A "corporate news journalistic responsibility promotional campaign."
Sinclair, America's largest operator of local TV stations, is in the spotlight after a controversial promo video went viral over the weekend.

Some staffers say they're embarrassed by the promos and concerned about their own credibility as journalists. A few local anchors and reporters are even reacting publicly, risking the ire of management.

But Sinclair senior vice president of news Scott Livingston is defending the promos as a "well-researched journalistic initiative focused on fair and objective reporting."

In an internal memo obtained by CNNMoney, Livingston slammed what he called "misleading, often defamatory stories" about the company.

Last month, at Livingston's direction, anchors at Sinclair's stations were required to read a script decrying "fake stories" and biased news coverage. Some of the language echoes President Trump's anti-media messaging. And it's written to make it sound like the opinion of the local anchors, when in fact it's a mandate from management.

Concerned journalists contacted CNNMoney about the promos last month. When the promos started airing, the Deadspin blog produced a video compilation of the exact same script being read by anchors across the country, reiterating the robotic and manipulative nature of the message.

"Everyone is really embarrassed after watching the Deadspin video," an employee at one of the stations said Monday.

Livingston disputes that.

"For the record, the stories we are referencing in this campaign are the unsubstantiated ones (i.e. fake/false) like 'Pope Endorses Trump' which move quickly across social media and result in an ill-informed public," he wrote in Monday's memo. "Some other false stories, like the false 'Pizzagate' story, can result in dangerous consequences. We are focused on fact-based reporting. That's our commitment to our communities."

Sinclair's critics - and there are many - see it very differently. They believe the company exhibits a conservative bias from the top down.

On Monday morning, apparently while watching TV coverage of the controversy, Trump sided with Sinclair in a very public way. He tweeted that it's "so funny to watch Fake News Networks" criticize Sinclair "for being biased" and said "Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke."

Mary Nam, one of the main anchors at Sinclair's powerhouse Seattle station KOMO, responded to the president's claim that the coverage is funny.

"Actually, this isn't funny at all. None of it," she wrote on Twitter. "When media giants gobble up local news stations, there are repercussions."

Nam also shared a critical column from The Salt Lake Tribune. The paper's TV critic, Scott D. Pierce, wrote in the column that "Sinclair is using the trust built by its local station to advance its political agenda."

That's how some Sinclair journalists feel. They have shared their frustrations with CNNMoney on condition of anonymity for fear of being fired.

HITLER IS ALIVE. PRETEND WE DON'T SEE HIM.

Alive2

SHOCK slips into THE TWILIGHT ZONE to examine what might be the show's crowning achievement.

"Where will he go next, this phantom from another time, this resurrected ghost of a previous nightmare – Chicago? Los Angeles? Miami, Florida? Vincennes, Indiana? Syracuse, New York? Anyplace, everyplace, where there's hate, where there's prejudice, where there's bigotry. He's alive. He's alive so long as these evils exist. Remember that when he comes to your town. Remember it when you hear his voice speaking out through others. Remember it when you hear a name called, a minority attacked, any blind, unreasoning assault on a people or any human being. He's alive because through these things we keep him alive…"
With those words, Rod Serling closed one of the most effective episodes from the spotty fourth season of his signature television series THE TWILIGHT ZONE. It's also one of the most important and prophetic installments of the original show period and one of the most groundbreaking moments in television history.
The episode in question is the Serling-penned "He's Alive", a grim, jet black peek into the sad life of a disenfranchised young man whose heart is full of hate; a boy so beaten down that he seeks empowerment by finding a cultural and social scapegoat, one whose truths he will twist and manipulate to rally a community of malevolent dissent around. "He's Alive" is yet another Serling ZONE musing on Nazism as supernatural horror (see season three's "Deaths Head Revisited" for an equally chilling parable) and yet, outside of the then-topical, still-potent use of Third Reich brainwashing and iconography, its message about mass-madness spurred on by a sociopath or group of sociopaths is a global theme that applies to and anticipates the contemporary state of the world in which we all live, love and die…the latter, often needlessly.
Alive
"He's Alive" stars a very young, post-REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and NIGHT TIDE and pre-EASY RIDER Dennis Hopper as a troubled, disenfranchised and cartoonishly xenophobic would-be neo-Nazi named Peter Vollmer. By day, Vollmer is a scared broken youth whose abusive childhood and failure to start his own engine have left him angry and in the thralls of an all-encompassing depression. By night, he funnels that welled-up bile and spews it out on street corners; he raves like a manic preacher in the dead of night, dressed head to foot in none-too-fashionable fascist attire and screeches his faux pro-American, anti-immigrant racist dogma for all of those who stop their strolls to listen.
Problem is, nobody takes him seriously. He's ultimately a coward, a sniveling wimp who is despised by his community and ignored. That is until one night, after another failed rally, when a shadowy figure emerges from the ether, snapping Peter to attention and vowing to whip him into shape. Soon, the whining would-be prophet is sharpening his senses, refining his vile speeches, amassing a flock of fevered fist pumpers and murdering those who dare stand in his way. But as with any devil-dealing, success has its price…and when the identity of his benefactor is finally revealed, it's far too late for redemption.
When Serling and CBS announced that THE TWILIGHT ZONE would be returning in 1963 with long form 60 minute episodes, it seemed exciting. The typical three-act, sting in the tail format of the show was key to TZ's instant cult following but CBS was concerned about the flailing ratings. Robbed of their compact poetry, many of the hour long installments dragged and built to an unsurprising shock ending that was obvious by the third commercial break. This is not to say that season four was bad. Like child actor and TZ vet Billy Mumy (who starred in three TZ episodes including the classic "It's a Good Life") once said, "All the episodes were good and most were exceptional."
Alive3
But they often lacked the energy the show traded in. "He's Alive", expertly directed by Stuart Rosenberg, is a major exception; the dialogue crackles, the cinematography is pure noir and Hopper – evil and sad, pathetic and terrifying – is as magnetic as he's ever been. The morality here about fear, cowardice and ignorance creating an opening to let evil in is again, just as sound today as it was a half century ago. One need only turn on the TV to see a mutated Vollmer in the guise of a dangerously buffoonish Donald Trump, or a murderous ISIS assassin channeling the same lethal disenfranchisement that makes a monster of the young man. We see Peter Vollmer in our schools, on our streets, in our own families. He is indeed alive and that's the tragedy of it.
In "He's Alive", Serling deftly illustrates, in deceptively simple fashion, the mechanics that makes these human monsters and, in doing so, offers practical advice on how curb their catastrophic brand of insanity before it has a chance to do the kind of damage it almost always does.
Once more, with feeling, here's to the heart and mind of pop culture's enduring prophet, Rod Serling. And here's to what might be his crowning achievement, "He's Alive".

PARIS - LOVE AND COURAGE AT FUNERAL FOR MURDERED JEWISH GRANDMOTHER.

Paris vigil for murdered Holocaust survivor brings together family, politicians and a Muslim rescuer of Jews

PARIS (JTA) – French Jews mourning a Holocaust survivor murdered in her Paris apartment welcomed the presence of France's interior minister, GĂ©rard Collomb, at a vigil in her memory.

"We appreciate authorities' swift action for justice and continued support," Joel Mergui, the president of the Consistoire Jewish group, said Wednesday during a vigil at the Tournelles Synagogue in Paris in memory of Mireille Knoll.

Prosecutors said she was murdered, partly because she was Jewish, by a Muslim neighbor and an accomplice. Knoll's son Daniel eulogized his mother before an audience of hundreds at the vigil.

Earlier that day, President Emmanuel Macron attended Knoll's funeral, where he embraced one of her children and vowed to fight anti-Semitism.

But for many Jews at the vigil, which followed a memorial march through Paris, Collomb's presence seemed secondary in importance to that of a young African Muslim man who unceremoniously entered the synagogue and sat in the back row. Within minutes, all eyes were on the man - Lassana Bathily, a 27-year-old from Mali whom many consider a hero because he hid a dozen people from the jihadist who killed four Jews at a kosher store in 2015.

After the vigil, dozens of people huddled around Bathily — some to hug him, others only to shake his hand and several to pose for a selfie with him.

Some women crossed over from their section of the synagogue to greet Bathily and thank him for coming, addressing him in the familiar "tu" pronoun rather than the "vous" that they would normally use with strangers.

Several people said his presence offers hope amid growing despair over the proliferation of anti-Semitic violence and the apparent inability by authorities to stop it.

"The minister is here and Mayor Anne Hidalgo is also here, and that's important because their commitment to the values of the French Republic is imperative for the survival of Jewish life here," David Mechal, a Jewish man from the suburb of Sarcelles, told JTA. "But real change is not up to them. It's up to people like Lassana, so it's moving to see him with us here, standing with us in solidarity in our hour of need."

For Bathily, who has consistently rejected assertions that he was a hero, attending the vigil was "an act of solidarity," but also a message, he told JTA.

"I want to tell the Jews of France, you are not isolated. You are not abandoned. This is your country," said Bathily, who himself became a French citizen by power of an executive decree weeks after the bloodbath at the HyperCacher store in recognition of his role in saving people from the perpetrator. "Do not leave France, stay here," he added. "There are many like me who support you."

Bathily was among many non-Jews who showed up for commemoration events Wednesday in memory of Knoll, whose killing shocked many Frenchmen because of its brutality – she was stabbed 11 times before her body was torched – but also because she survived the 1942 roundup of Jews by French police working for the Nazis.

Some non-Jews at the march, which had at least 10,000 participants, were holding signs reading "don't touch my buddy." Others, like Alain Ndigal, a 48-year-old mechanic of African descent, wore Israeli flags.

"I am here to support French Jews, sure, but I'm also here to support myself and other Frenchmen," said Ndigal, a devout Christian. "We know by now that what begins with the Jews never ends with them. We are also in the crosshairs."

Notwithstanding, French Jews appeared to have been the overwhelming majority at the march, despite calls by organizers of the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities for non-Jews to attend.

A scuffle broke out when Marine Le Pen, the lead of the far-right National Front, showed despite a warning from CRIF President Francis Kalifat that she was not welcome. Dozens of her supporters shouted "Marine is with us" as others shouted "N for Nazi," referencing the first letter of her party's name. French Jews believe it is a hotbed of anti-Semitism, though she denies the assertion.

Jean-Luc Melenchon, a far-left politician whom CRIF said engages in anti-Semitic rhetoric, also showed up despite being asked not to.

Attendance by non-Jews at commemorative events for victims of anti-Semitism is a major issue to many French Jews, who feel their society is more likely to focus on Islamist violence when it is directed at non-Jews.

"It's an impressive mobilization, for sure," Vincent Cohen told JTA at the march. "But I look around and I see around me the same people who came to the HyperCacher vigil, the same people who showed up at the march for Sarah Hamili."

Halimi was an elderly Jewish woman who, according to prosecutors, was killed by her Muslim neighbor in Paris last year.

"I see mostly graying Jews. This place looks like a CRIF conference and it slightly depresses me," Cohen said.

Daniel Knoll touched on this point in a highly emotional eulogy he delivered at the synagogue for his mother.

"I look around and I want to see everyone, not only Jews, but people of all colors, all faiths, at these events," he said.

Referencing how hatred of Israel sometimes morphs into hatred of Jews in France, he asked: "But why hate Israel in the first place? It's a good place, based on justice. Why hate Israelis? My daughters are Israelis. They are wonderful, compassionate women."

Visibly grief-stricken, Daniel Knoll told the crowd that "he has no answers for those questions," or the question with which he concluded his speech: "How do I go on now, without a mother, with this terrible pain?"

MONTREAL POLICE ARE PROTECTING THESE CRIMINALS

MONTREAL POLICE WILL NOT INVESTIGATE EVEN WHEN THERE IS A CORPSE.

HOW DID ED MCSWEENEY DIE? HOW DID MY MOTHER DIE?

HOW DID KENNETH GREGOIRE PRUD'HOMME, A COMPLETE STRANGER WHO NEVER MET MY FATHER, COME TO INHERIT MY FATHER'S LIFE'S SAVINGS AND OUR FAMILY HOME?

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY SISTER, DEBBIE RUBIN MCSWEENEY?

MONTREAL POLICE REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE.

THE EVIDENCE

The laws of Canada protect criminals: No one in Canada protects crime victims. I know this because I am a Canadian crime victim. A Montreal Police officer helped the criminal, Dawn McSweeney, rob and destroy my family.

I have been fighting for the return of our precious valuables, day and night, since the day I was attacked and robbed, with the help of a Montreal police officer - October 7 1996.

Here is

EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT

"Mrs. Carter's Rights were Violated Three Times."

Marlene Jennings, Member of Parliament, Canada.

My name is Phyllis Carter. I am an 81 year old Canadian journalist, a widow and cancer patient and - thanks to the Montreal Police - I am also a crime victim. I have been fighting for justice since October 7, 1996, when I was attacked in my home and robbed of everything I had worked for all my life and everything left to me by my beloved husband.

While I was holding off my attacker, I managed to call 911.

The Montreal Police I called to rescue me - helped the thief instead.

I told the police immediately who had robbed me but, through all the years and through all my appeals, I have not been able to get the Montreal Police to take any action to recover my stolen belongings from Dawn McSweeney, the person who robbed me and my family, or to take any legal action against her and her accomplices.

At the Meet the Candidates assembly in NDG on October 7, 2008, former Liberal Member of Parliament, and Quebec Deputy Police Ethics Commissioner, Marlene Jennings, stated before all the candidates and the public -

"Mrs. Carter's Rights Were Violated Three Times".

1. In 1996, the Montreal Police refused to file a report of the initial robbery. They have continued to refuse to act ever since.

2. In 2007, immediately following the death of my mother, the same group of criminals obtained a court order accusing me of being insane and dangerous. I was released from hospital unconditionally as soon as the doctors found out what my accusers had done and why.

After my mother's death, we learned that -

3. In 2005, the same group who call themselves "Partners in Crime" created a will in my mother's name when she was 92 years old and handicapped physically and mentally. My mother had been kept in total isolation by these criminals for a decade - until her death.

The sole beneficiaries of the 2005 will were the same people who robbed me and obtained the court order against me. Then it became clear why these criminals tried to discredit me and silence me.

Marlene Jennings later repeated her statement at a Sunday service in Rosedale United Church in Montreal.

But, to this day, the Montreal Police refuse to take any action against Dawn McSweeney and those she calls her "partners in crime" on her own blog.

I believe there can be only one logical explanation for why the Montreal Police refuse to act against the criminals in this case: One of their own officers helped Dawn McSweeney to rob me - and his partner, who my attacker called "Mario" in a very familiar way - did nothing to help me.

$5,000. REWARD

MEET DAWN MCSWEENEY
I SAVED HER LIFE - SHE STOLE MINE

HOW TO RAISE A CRIMINAL
THE TRAGEDY OF DAWN MCSWEENEY

Circa February, 1994, I moved back to my parents' home at 4995 Prince of Wales, NDG, Montreal. I was sick with cancer, widowed, unemployed and my mother wanted me home.

Summer 1996 - Good friends paid a brief visit. As soon as they left, Dawn McSweeney, my youngest sister's daughter, told my mother - in my presence - that my friends only pretended to love me, but they really despised me. In spite of Dawn McSweeney's jealousy and hatred, they are still my friends to this day.

THE THIEF, DAWN MCSWEENEY, WAS ALWAYS AFTER MONEY

The beginning of October, 1996, Dawn and her boyfriend, Alex Lavergne, suddenly moved into 4995.

October 5, 1996 - I did a new inventory of all my belongings at 4995, expecting Dawn to pilfer. I pleaded with my mother to keep Dawn out of my rooms - to no avail.

October 7, 1996 - I was suddenly attacked in the foyer of our home. I managed to call 911. The Montreal Police I hoped would come to my rescue, helped the thief instead.

The officer took me out of the house by my arm and told me I had to leave my home and never return for any reason.

I was not allowed to take anything with me except my bible, my purse, and a pair of shoes that I liked to wear in church,.

The police left me in the street in front of my home without as much as a coat - and they just drove away. There was no legal process, and I learned later that they did not make a police report.

All my most valuable possessions were in my home where I was attacked and robbed with the help of a Montreal Police officer. I was left in the street with nothing but the clothes on my back. I was homeless and destitute. I had to start my life all over again, with nothing.

THE RAPE OF A JEWISH FAMILY

THE DANGERS OF BEING CHRISTIAN

ABANDONED BY PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE -

I paid premiums to Prudential Insurance for thirty years. On October 8 or 9, 1996 - I reported the robbery to my Prudential Insurance agent, Brian Thornily. Prudential insurance abandoned me. As soon as they heard that a police officer helped the thief, they refused to investigate. Later, Prudential's agent told me it was because the police had made their report of the robbery "too late".

I had pleaded with the police to investigate from the moment I called 911, and constantly thereafter, but they refused, saying everything would be returned to me if I would "just be patient". It has been a lifetime of years since this horrible crime tore my life apart, and the Montreal Police still refuse to take appropriate action.

1996-97 - I got a tip that Dawn McSweeney had a friend who operated a jewellery store on Prince Arthur. I told Montreal Police detective, Sylvie Laverdiere. She told me that, since I was a Pinkerton investigator, I should do the investigation myself and report back to her. I did that, verbally and in a detailed written report.

The police at the Mariette station told me to go back home and ask my mother to return my jewelery. I went to the house and stood on the icy steps pleading with my mother to give me back my belongings. Dawn McSweeney came to the door and laughed at me as I stood on the steps weeping - and she mocked me. Then she went inside and called the police.

AS I CRIED AND PLEADED FOR MY BELONGINGS, DAWN MCSWEENEY LAUGHED AND MOCKED ME

The same officers who had told me to go home and ask for my belongings came to the house and told me to leave. I refused to leave without my precious belongings. The woman officer said she would have to arrest me if I didn't leave. I begged her to arrest me so the case could go to court. She promised the police would recover my belongings, so I agreed to leave.

Montreal Police detective Sylvie Laverdiere went to 4995 Prince of Wales and asked for my belongings. Detective Laverdiere told me she did not enter the house, but Dawn McSweeney handed her my Borg winter coat - and nothing else - none of my valuables.

March 17, 1997 - Dawn McSweeney returned what she did not want - my clothing, some files, and all my jewellery boxes and cases - EMPTY.

THE RETURN OF THE EMPTY JEWEL BOXES

March 17, 1997 - I brought the suitcase full of empty little jewelery boxes to the police at the Mariette station. Then they finally said they would investigate - six months after the attack and robbery.

Two police detectives, a man and a woman, came to my apartment all decked out with guns and radios and all sorts of gear. It looked as if - at long last - they would do a serious investigation.

The detectives told me they had to take some boxes and the suitcase that had contained my jewellery to the police lab to test for fingerprints. Dawn McSweeney, Debbie McSweeney and Ed McSweeney, Dawn's father, had all handled my belongings. One of them had even initialed boxes to show they had searched the contents. But, once the police detectives took the boxes and suitcase, the incriminating evidence "disappeared". The detectives told me there were "no fingerprints". They did not say the prints were smeared or unclear. They insisted that "There were NO fingerprints" - Not even mine? "No, none."

Passing by 4995 Prince of Wales in my car in April, 2004, I noticed that the front stoop was littered with junk mail. I dared to go to the door and rang the bell. No answer. Maybe my mother just didn't want to speak to me.

OUR AGED MOTHER WAS MISSING -
MONTREAL POLICE REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE.

I went around to the back of the house to try to see through the window if my mother was alright. There were strange holes all around the back yard and the back door and window were covered with dead brown vines. It was like an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I feared the worst. I called for an ambulance. Police came and there was no response. I asked the police at the Somerled station to investigate. They refused.

Mother "disappeared" and no one knew where she was - or how she was. But the Montreal Police refused to investigate. Our mother was kept in total isolation for about ten years by Dawn McSweeney and those she calls her "partners in crime" on her own blog.

Summer, 2007 - I was told by my brother that Paperman and Sons, funeral directors, had informed him that our mother was dead. I went to the cemetery. There I saw a stranger with my sister, Debbie. The Paperman agent told me that Debbie called the man her "husband". What happened to Ed McSweeney?*

Paperman's agent told me that the stranger's name was Kenneth Gregoire Prud'homme. Three Montreal Police cars attended the burial. I thanked one of the officers for being there. The whole thing was bizarre.

A day after the burial of my mother, two police officers knocked on my door. They had a court order declaring that I was insane and dangerous and they took me to the hospital for a "thirty day mental evaluation."

THE PHYLLIS CARTER DETENTION
CONDEMNED IN ABSENTIA IN FOUR MINUTES

I returned home three days later, Afterward, I learned that Kenneth Gregoire Prud'homme had requested the court order which was granted in four minutes without anyone in authority notifying me, seeing me, speaking to me, without any evidence or medical report or any witnesses - except for the stranger who had never met me or spoken to me - Kenneth Gregoire Prud'homme - and Dawn McSweeney's mother, my beloved "baby sister", Debbie.

Later, I learned that, two years prior to her death, in 2005, when my mother was about 92 years old, Kenneth Gregoire Prud'homme had made a will in my mother's name, eliminating all the children and grandchildren specifically named in my father's will - and giving our family home and my father's life's savings to Debbie McSweeney and Dawn McSweeney, and making himself the "liquidator" of my father's estate - a man who never even met my father who had died in 2000.

MOTHER DID NOT SIGN THAT WILL
SHE WAS 92 YEARS OLD, MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY ILL

Dawn McSweeney had six months of total, uninterrupted access to all my precious belongings, and she stole the best of everything I had worked for all my life and all the gifts I had receive all my life - every precious souvenir of my lifetime. No amount of money could ever replace what Dawn McSweeney stole with the help of the Montreal Police.

In 2008, Member of Parliament and former Quebec Police Ethics Commissioner, Marlene Jennings, stated at two public meetings in Montreal - "Mrs. Carter's rights were violated three times."

MRS. CARTER'S RIGHTS WERE VIOLATED THREE TIMES -
MARLENE JENNINGS, M.P.

But the Montreal Police refuse still refuse to recover our stolen property or to arrest the thief and those she calls her "partners in crime,"

Why?

Because a Montreal Police officer was involved in the crime from the moment he answered my 911 call. And because the Montreal Police refused to take action against the thief, she and her accomplices went on to rob my parents, my siblings and my siblings' children of their inheritances. My family was torn apart.

I am offering a $5,000. REWARD.

I DO NOT WANT MONEY.

I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY KIND OF "COMPENSATION".

I HAVE BEEN PLEADING FOR JUSTICE DAY AND NIGHT SINCE THE DAY I WAS ATTACKED AND ROBBED WITH THE HELP OF THE MONTREAL POLICE.

More than 400,000. people from Montreal to Moscow have read my reports, but
THERE IS STILL NO JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS OF THE MONTREAL POLICE.
