There are people who oppose a woman's right to have a abortion.
Some of those people have political power to decide the fate of strangers, to determine what a woman may or may not do with her own womb.
Many of those who claim to speak for "God" are bible-thumpers - religious fanatics - so I would not recommend that any of them be allowed to adopt someone else's baby.
However, suppose some of those anti-abortionists who call themselves "pro-lifers" really wanted to help girls and women to avoid having an abortion. I propose a solution that might help in many cases.
Let their churches, mosques, synagogues and "pro-life" organizations create legal registries for the "faithful".
Those sincere god-loving , baby loving, people must register to finance the mother and the baby fully for the next 18 years, without excuse, delay or escape.
They must put up tangible collateral and take a legally binding oath that they will not make any effort to back out of their commitment under any circumstances, under severe penalty.
I expect that some unwanted pregnancies would continue under such assurances, and that should satisfy the anti-abortionists and help the woman who must go through with the pregnancy she does not want.
Please publish the names of the institutions and individuals are prepared at this moment to make that commitment.
